We study the simultaneous learning of many word predictors and the relation it has to word similarity and clustering. Our approach is shown to be robust and perform quite well even when the competing words are very similar. Some of the issues involved in scaling up to learn many predictors are investigated, as well as how this approach gives rise to the emergence of semantic categories.
